GOH Food Bank 1 Acre Garden
Our garden is made possible because of our dedicated volunteers! Thank you for your interest. Luckily gardening allows for social distancing, so we are able to have groups of 10 or less during this time.
What tasks do volunteers help with? We could use your help planting, weeding, picking, watering, building more raised beds and other gardening jobs. A representative from the food bank will be onsite to give instruction at every time slot.
What do I need to bring? Masks are required in light of COVID-19. Dependent on weather, be prepared with sunscreen, hat, water etc. You will be working in the sun. Also, bring gardening gloves, wear boots or sneakers (no open-toe shoes or sandals) and clothing you don't mind getting dirty.
Directions: From Bustard Rd. turn onto Fry Road, go past Schlosser Rd (on the right), the location is on the left (a gravel drive). Look for the Harylesville Rotary sign. If you come to a stop sign you've gone too far. Park in the gravel area near the house.
Other info: We have times and dates available during the week and weekends. In addition to the signup below, we also need help with watering until we get our irrigation system installed. If interested let us know! If you have a group that would like to come out on the weekend please reach out to us so we can arrange a day.
Children are allowed to volunteer if accompanied by a parent and they can behave. We have the right to ask a parent and child to leave if the child is not behaving.
Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. Thank you!
