Volunteer at WAS-H

Volunteers are the backbone of the Watercolor Art Society-Houston. Without volunteers, we wouldn't be able to provide the exhibits, receptions, workshops and many programs offered at our facility. 

We are open but there are still issues with COVID.  We have a mixture of online and in-person activities for which we need volunteer support.  There will be added volunteer opportunities once we are fully functional at our gallery home.

There are many ways to participate. See below for our general opportunities. Pick one or more and we will contact you when specific events occur to see if you can participate. For further information, contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Sally Hoyt at [email protected]

Online Volunteer Opportunity

Annual International Watermedia Exhibit (IWE)

Our biggest event of the year offers lots of volunteer opportunities. There will be a special sign-up for this event that will show all the tasks that need to be covered.

Annual Membership Exhibit (AME)

This is one of our two biggest annual exhibitions and is open only to active members of WAS-H. There are many volunteer opportunities. Just let us know that you are interested and we can find a spot for you to help.

Art Fair

This is a once-a-year event that showcases members' art work for sale. This is a great opportunity to meet fellow WAS-H members and interact with the public. The event is held in the parking lot on a Saturday in the Springtime.

Monthly Gallery Show Reception

This opportunity only involves a few hours once a month when we gather in person in the gallery. Lots of different jobs are needed; pouring wine to setting up buffets, decorating, and playing host/hostess. It's lots of fun!
