Earth Day Event: Keep Growing Detroit + Lunch

Outing to Keep Growing Detroit and Lunch at Traffic Jam & Snug

Saturday April 27 (in honor of Earth Day)

8:00am- 2:00pm

In the morning, we will travel to work at a local urban farm, Keep Growing Detroit (http://detroitagriculture.net/KGD), a Detroit-based farm and community center dedicated to promoting a "food sovereign city, " that is, a city where the majority of the fruits and vegetables consumed by its citizens are produced within the city itself. At KGD, we will learn about their vision and programs and work with their staff to help them with their spring planting.

Then, for lunch, we will all eat together at Traffic Jam and Snug located at 511 W. Canfield in Detroit. It is a very neat restaurant, for those of you who haven't been there.

This year we are looking for drivers to help get us all down there. If you feel comfortable driving in the city, please volunteer on the sign-up sheet.

Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

This event is funded by Christ Church Cranbrook.
