Hollywood Food Coalition
IMPORTANT COVID-19 UPDATE:
We are an Essential Service. The Community Exchange employs social distancing rules, the use of facemasks and follows all recommendations made by the CDC.
The Hollywood Food Coalition has successfully opened The COMMUNITY EXCHANGE at the Hollywood United Methodist Church on the NW corner of Highland and Franklin. Since May 18, 2020 we have taken in more than 267,000 pounds of food. Half of which we used to make our nightly Community Dinner. The remaining 60 tons of food, THE COMMUNITY EXCHANGE carefully & mindfully distributed to other non-profits. This project takes the time and the respect needed to match the right food and items to each specific organization in need.
We need volunteers at the Hollywood United Methodist Church (Mon-Fri 11:30am-4pm) to help sort and organize incoming and outgoing food, hygiene items and more. This fast paced volunteering opportunity requires frequently lifting anywhere from 5-50 pounds. It is a terrific substitute for the gym, since gyms are currently closed. But can be very physically taxing and messy, so we want to make sure you are up for the task. Please sign up below and we will call you. Please note: You may not hear from us right away. Thank you!!
