Ascension Church Members
Churches and other organizations around the United States and Canada sponsor a "Trunk-or-Treat" on Halloween night, where trick-or-treating is done from parked car to parked car in our church parking lot. This annual event began in the mid-1990s as a "Fall Festival" for an alternative to trick-or-treating, but became "Trunk-or-Treat" two decades later. The event involves a trunk of one's car is opened, displaying candy, and often sometimes games and decorations. Concerned parents see it as safer for their children, while other parents see it as an easier alternative to walking the neighborhood with their kids.
One of the great things about Trunk-or-Treat is the opportunity to involve so many people that are not normally part of your ministry. Inviting people to decorate their cars and hand out candy is an easy ask with a one time commitment.
At Ascension, we see it as an opportunity to share the Gospel with our community, as well as, invite our community to our campus.
