Tahoe Environmental Research Center
Science Expo fosters student excitement and interest in science with hands-on science activities for third-, fourth-, and fifth-grade students from the greater Lake Tahoe Region and an evening public event for families. The 5th annual South Lake Tahoe Science Expo has the theme of Earth & Space Science. There are approximately 30 different science activities under the themes of geology, weather & climate, and astronomy.
We need volunteers to run the activities throughout the week. Being a volunteer is fun and easy! We have morning and afternoon sessions each day, and an evening session on Thursday. Please feel free to sign up for more than one session as we need a lot of volunteers.
The 2020 South Lake Tahoe Science Expo is on March 31 - April 3, 2020 in South Lake Tahoe at the Lake Tahoe Community College gymnasium with a public Science Expo held one evening that week, to be announced.
Volunteers will also attend a training in the days before Science Expo.
For more information about Science Expo and the science stations visit the TERC website at https://tahoe.ucdavis.edu/science-expo.
NOTE: Time slots are subject to slight change as we will plan our time slots to best suit our students' schedules. Please feel free to sign-up for both shifts for the day if you are able to. The times overlap to provide training for the afternoon shifts.
