Pelican Island Audubon Society
Morgan Rockwell, an M.S. student at the University of Florida, leads a hike through the Osprey Acres Stormwater Park & Nature Preserve to identify its various habitats and the plants & wildlife that reside there. This 83.7 acre facility boasts a range of natural Florida ecosystems including uphill pine, mesic oak hammock, a small scrub area, and now manmade wetlands. Having these various habitats promotes a wealth of biodiversity within the property.
