Field trip to see Red-cockaded Woodpecker colonies

February 20 (Wednesday): meet at 5:30AM at the park visitor center located at the Brevard/Indian River county line off of Babcock, just north of the C-54 canal.  Limited to 8 people as we will ride in a park pickup truck to the colony site. Must be physically able to climb in and out of a pickup truck bed.  Bring a spotting scope if you have one as it will be helpful in seeing birds. Other possible birds will include Brown-headed Nuthatch and Bachman's Sparrow, among others. Bring warm clothing in case of cool morning weather.
