2019 Saint Patrick's Day Weekend

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for our Saint Patrick's Day Weekend Festivities!

If you or someone you are signing up is a minor, please additionally fill out the minor consent form found here:  https://www.azirish.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/parent-consent-form-minor.pdf and return to [email protected] Please note that some volunteer spots are not open for minors. 

Volunteers and staff are asked to park off-site for all of our weekend festivities, as the parking lot will be allocated for mobility limitated/special needs accessible parking. 

Please wear comfortable, professional clothes and closed-toed shoes.

Must have general knowledge of the current events/services offered at the Irish Cultural Center & McClelland Library. Will answer/direct general questions from the public and sell event/raffle tickets. Current Docent preferred. 18years+, computer literate

 

Tea Class Assistants (2)

Will assist Loraine in her Tea Class, including helping clean up and reset the seats, and sell any tickets that have not been pre-sold. Must be computer-literate and like a fast-paced environment. 18years+, food handlers card preferred.

The Book of Kells volunteer is stationed in the Library in the Book of Kells exhibit to answer general questions about the exhibit at the library. Familiarity with the Book of Kells is preferred. Must be at least 18 years. Reports to Library staff

 

Volunteer Area

The Volunteer in the volunteer area will help keep the break area clean and stocked for the Cultural Center and Library volunteers and staff taking a break. This position is not general public focused. Must be 18 years or older

Needs general knowledge of family history research/services offered at the Irish Cultural Center &McClelland Library. Will answer general genealogy questions for public & assist in Genealogy-specific merchandise sales. 18 years+, reports to Library staff

Should be familiar with the McClelland Library Point of Sale system or come in to learn prior to the 16th. Volunteer will ring up sales for genealogy/book purchases. Must enjoy interacting with people, computer literate, 18years+, reports to Library staff

 

Book Sale (2)

Book Sale volunteers will help restock tables with book sale books and assist patrons looking for books to purchase. Must be 18years+, able to lift 20 lbs, will report to Library Staff.

Should be assertive and comfortable speaking with people they do not know. Will control the number of people that enter the library at a time and prevent individuals from brining alcohol inside. Must be 18years+ and will report to Library Staff.
