Temple Solel Interfaith Shelter
Temple Solel is in its 26th year of hosting the Interfaith Rotation Shelter for the North Coastal region.
Overnight Hosts: Arrive at Temple Solel by 6:00pm, and you are free to leave by 7:30 am the next morning. You will have a set of keys for the rooms used and a complete book listing information about the guests, procedures, rules, contact information etc. If you have not done this before, we will team you up with an experienced host to walk you through the process.
You will be sleeping in the Library on provided air mattresses, so bring your sleeping bag and pillow. Access to bathrooms are through the preschool offices.
You can join the shelter guests and dinner hosts for a great dinner in the Coffee House. Please let us know how many people will be staying overnight so you will be included for the dinner count.
What you will be doing during the evening:
You are expected to spend time with the guests and be available in case of emergency. Guests are to be woken up at 6:00am to be at breakfast by 6:30am. A variety of cereals, breads, and lunch supplies need to be moved into the coffee house. Job responsibilities are to brew coffee for the morning. Some overnight hosts also prepare breakfast, but this is not required. A closing coordinator will arrive about 7:30pm to debrief from the prior night and assist in putting away the breakfast and lunch foods.
