Sac Home Winemakers Club
Once again this year our club will be assisting the California State Fair with the home winemakers competition. Spread over a period of three different dates, the activities include the organization and reconciliation of the entries received, pulling them into pre-determined flights, and getting things ready for judging. The club is monetarily compensated for our services and this money is used to help support the club's annual budget. Volunteers are asked to wear closed toed shoes (for safety purposes). This activity involves a moderate amount of walking and some light lifting. The wine entries are purposely stored in a cool room so dress in layers in order to be comfortable.
Megan's Law: As with past years, all volunteers are required to submit information to comply with Megan's Law. Again this year the State Fair is using an on-line submission form thereby simplifying the process. Once you reserve a slot, below, Robert will email you the web link to the on-line form.
Driving directions: Enter CalExpo through Gate 12 at the intersection of Ethan Way & Hurley Way. At the guard shack tell the security guard that you are there for the home winemakers competition set-up. Follow the access road around the back of CalExpo past both the water park and Papa Murphy's Park (formerly Bonney Field). Park and go into building 4.
