Mead Road Mardi Gras
Mead Road Mardi Gras is a homegrown event in Decatur, Georgia that celebrates Mardi Gras and raises money for the Decatur Education Foundation. This year the parade will be held on March 2 at 1 p.m. The parade begins at the 4/5 Academy at Fifth Avenue (F.Ave), winds its way through the Oakhurst Neighborhood, and culminates at the Imperial with Cajun cuisine and live music, including performances by Decatur students. All proceeds from parade Krewe sign-up fees, sponsorships, and food and drink sales at The Imperial will fund Decatur Education Foundation grants that support music and arts in our schools.
We need lots of help from neighbors and friends! Please sign up below to join the Volunteer Krewe and help make this event a success. Have fun, get to know some neighbors, and pitch in for a great cause! Each volunteer will receive 2 free food/beverage tokens and a MRMG t-shirt or hoodie (subject to style and size availablility).
