St. John Lutheran School
Each Friday of the school year St. John provides a hot lunch for the school children, teachers, and volunteers at school. The cost for each child is $2.00 and children bring the money to school on Friday. Lunch service starts at 11:15 am. In order to provide this meal, we rely on volunteers to make and serve the meal that day.
Parents often chose the week of their child's birthday to serve hot lunch or simply a week that is convenient for them. Those providing the meal often donate the hot lunch money to various non-budgeted school funds or they may use the fee to offset the cost of the meal. You may sign up for as many meals as you like.
Lisa Sargent, our school secretary, is the contact person and coordinator for our Hot Lunch Program. You can ask her questions at school (715) 582-4565 or on her cell (920) 228-1563. Kathy Van Hecke is NOT able to serve meals this year. She is happy to answer any questions you might have about amounts of food you need to provide or shopping advice at (715) 582-0117.
To prevent the spread of illness a few rules need to be followed:
- When preparing food for serving please wear a mask, both at home and at school.
- All items served need to be plated by the lunch team.
- If you or anyone in your family are sick, have been exposed to Covid-19, or experiencing any flu-like symptoms, please notify Mrs. Sargent ASAP and do not prepare or serve hot lunch that week.
A document with meal suggestions and other considerations is also available on the school website. Look for the link "Hot Lunch Guidelines" on the SignUp Genius page and/or the Parent Resources page.
Because Mrs. Van Hecke cannot serve meals, we are also looking for some volunteers who would be able serve meals when the parent providing the food cannot. Please let Mrs. Sargent know if you are able to serve.
This year we are asking you to indicate what you plan to serve as the main meal. If you are unsure at the time you pick your date, you can go back later and add it or change it.
