WatchD.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) is a National program designed to get positive male role models to volunteer in the school ONE DAY a year in order to inspire our own children and to reduce the amount of bullying that occurs at school. ONE DAY is all it takes to make a huge difference. But we're pretty sure you'll enjoy yourself so much you'll be ready to signup more than once. :) You're welcome, and encouraged, to select multiple days of the school year.
Volunteers will perform a variety of tasks during the day like monitoring the school entrance, assisting with unloading and loading of buses and cars, monitoring the lunch room and recess, or helping in the classroom.
Once you've completed your LWSD volunteer application, select the day(s) you'd like to volunteer. Give the LWSD approximately 2 weeks to process your application.
Once you've signed up be sure to order an Official Uniform Shirt (if you don't already own one) from the WatchDOGS website so that the kids will know right away why you are at school!
ATTENTION: We are currently looking for a TOP DOG (a Lead) for this team to run this signup list and to coordinate assignments. Over the years many dads have taken a turn in this position for one school year and then passed on the torch to another dad. Is this year YOUR turn? Since many dads work and travel frequently, consider creating a team to keep this crucial program alive for your kids this year. Contact me at [email protected] if you are interested and would like to know more.
Sincere thanks for your consideration and participation.
