MA'AFA is a play written & directed by Terrence Spivey. In song and dance, it takes the audience on a mystical journey from present-day to witnessing the torturous transatlantic slave trade to the antebellum, in order for a ten-year-old girl to learn her family tree and save an African burial ground in the South.

A note about “STONE SOUP PAYMENTS”: The Black History Education Team believes that part of being in community with each other is helping the WHOLE community to participate in community events. In this spirit, we encourage those who can pay the full amount to do so. If you can afford to pay for 1 ½, 2, or 3 admissions, please do! If you can pay only part of the cost, or cannot pay anything at all, that’s OK. Just sign up and pay whatever you can. We trust that the extra money from those who can pay more will cover participation for those who can pay less or not at all.
Members of the Black History Education Committee will be available to receive payments in Fellowship Hall before and after Sunday services.
Or, if you prefer, you can pay by credit card or PayPal online by clicking this link. Please be sure to click on "Add special Instructions to the seller" to indicate what this is for!
