UPDATES DURING COVID: As we continue to observe the recommended health safety precautions for COVID19, it is our practice to keep social distancing, wear a mask, and only volunteer if feeling well before coming into the food bank. Volunteer needs are reduced as food drives are still slower at this time, therefore we have decreased the number of volunteers needed each opening to one person and only adults over age 18. Please consider signing up just once/month to allow others to join in. Continue to watch for other opportunities on our Sign Up Genius as they become available. We do look forward to when we can return to normal operating procedures.
Assist along with other volunteers during our food bank warehouse weekly operational times - weigh and sort food, make up food orders, assist with nonperishable food distributions to food pantries, and participate in other tasks.
The activities described above are ideal for people who can lift 20 pounds and learn to use food bank equipment. Currently we are limiting the age of volunteers to 18 years and older.
**Enter in the comment section that you are a new volunteer. We always have an experienced volunteer there to train you.
This sign up requires your full name & address because we conduct background checks on all adults ages 18 and older. We also request your cell phone number if there is inclement weather, any last-minute scheduling changes, etc. All adults need to sign a waiver on their first day and minors need to have a waiver signed by parent/guardian before they can volunteer.
The food bank is located at 1605 N. 10th Street in Noblesville. It is located in the cream-colored warehouse building on the south side of the White River Christian Church campus and shares space with their food pantry. Enter the door on the north side where the LARGE GARAGE DOOR is located. If the garage door is closed, you can enter at the door to the right of the garage door. Ask for someone from the Food Bank.
