Servanthood Opportunites
Our partner Hebron House is running a cold-weather emergency shelter this winter out of the Quality Inn at Georke's Corners. They’ll serve 15 people per week, providing a warm, safe place to stay and food for the weekends. That’s where we come in! Once a month we’ll pack 15 bags with food that can be prepared without kitchen supplies (e.g. oatmeal cups, cup o noodles, muffins, snacks, drinks, fruit) and deliver to Hebron House’s staff on Thursday.
Note: December date is a Wednesday due to the New Years Eve holiday
Volunteers needed each month:
- 1 shopper: We’ll provide a grocery list and church credit card, you’d pick up the food and deliver to Cross of Life by noon on Thursday
- 1 egg boiler: Isn’t that a great name?! You’d hard boil 2 dozen eggs and deliver to Cross of Life by noon on Thursday
- 1 deliverer: You’d come to Cross of Life at 1:00 pm Thursday, we’d load the 15 bags into your car, and you’d deliver to Hebron’s offices in Pewaukee (1166 Quail Court Suite 400)
- Packers: Volunteer team to take bulk items and repackage in individual servings, divide the groceries into 15, and pack the bags. At noon on Thursday, we’ll work spread out across the Cross of Life Fellowship Hall. Covid precautions: masks, open windows, social distancing. All ages welcome!
