Franciscan Kitchens Responds to the Coronavirus Outbreak
MEALS TO GO
The coronavirus crisis impacts everyone, particularly our clients who are now without much of the support they normally receive. In an effort to comply with governmental guidelines yet continue to assist our needy clients, we're closing our soup kitchen dining room for the next six to eight weeks but will be providing “Meals to Go” in place of our usual sit-down meal.
We anticipate that demand will be higher than normal (from 200 meals a day up to 300) as many of our clients may find themselves without work and many children will be going without meals they otherwise would receive at school. We will need more food that can be quickly, easily and individually prepared and packaged, which will be more costly than the meal we typically serve.
Five dollars buys one Meal to Go -a healthy, filling meal plus a little more to bring home to get through the day.
