2018 Env. Permitting Summer School

Discover Rookery Bay

On behalf of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, we invite you to visit Rookery Bay, one of the 29 National Estuarine Research Reserves.  Rookery Bay provides a unique experience to see some of the 110,000 acres of pristine mangrove forest, uplands and protected waters.  See a myriad of wildlife, including 150 species of birds and many threatened and endangered animals that thrive in the estuarine environment and surrounding upland hammocks and scrub found within the reserve.
