Washington Lee Crew Boosters
Saturday, April 27 is W-L's annual home regatta on the Potomac, the Charlie Butt Regatta. The racing will start at 8 am and run to approximately 1 pm. The festivities will include a boat-naming ceremony at about 1 pm, after the racing concludes. The Boosters are hosting breakfast and a picnic starting at about 12:30 pm for rowers, families, alumni, and other guests.
This year our access to PBC is limited so we will be gathering on the grass field adjacent to PBC, between the aqueduct and the Washington Canoe Club. Also this year, we'll enjoy breakfast catering, generously donated by the newly opened crew-parent-owned restaurant Good Company Doughnuts & Cafe, followed by lunch catered by Texas Jack's Barbeque. Lunch will include a variety of barbequed meats as well as vegetarian options and side dishes.
The Boosters are asking parents to help set up, clean up, supervise, and contribute additional food items to supplement the catering. Breakfast food, coolers, and some ice should be delivered to PBC by 6:30 am (can be sent with your rower) and all other items should be delivered by 10:30 am, so factor this is in when you sign up. Please label tables, chairs, serving items, coolers, etc., with your name and phone number. As much as possible, please try to take your possessions with you at the end of the day. Thank you for helping to make this a great day of racing and camaraderie!
