Volunteer Positions Available:
-Set Up Volunteers will assist with preparing for a walk-up Free Produce Market distribution. Set up tents, tables, and sort through and package produce for the distribution. Volunteers must be able to lift 40 pounds.
-Greeter Volunteers will greet neighbors as they arrive at our Free Produce Market. They will use good customer service to answer questions that may arise and take brief intake information for our reporting purposes.
-Market Volunteers will assist in packaging produce for the Free Produce Market distribution and helping shoppers. They will also assist neighbors by loading packages into their vehicles. After market, these volunteers will also assist in tear down and loading the food shelf truck. Volunteers must be able to lift 40 pounds.

Masks are optional for all staff and volunteers in the Food Shelf building and at Food Shelf programs. We will continue to follow the MN Dept of Health and Ramsey County recommendations and make changes as the COVID-19 Community Levels are updated in the future. Masks will be provided for those choosing to wear one.
Volunteers should be:
-Age 16 or older to volunteer alone (ages 12-15 are welcome with an adult)
-Able to lift at least 40 pounds (except Greeters), work in a fast-paced environment, and stand for the length of the volunteer shift (breaks will be given to avoid heat exhaustion)
-Able to work in summer weather conditions - heat, humidity, rain, etc.
Free Produce Markets will operate rain or shine but will be canceled or moved to an indoor location in the case of inclement weather (thunderstorms, heat advisories, etc.) All volunteers signed up for the canceled/moved shift will be notified by email. Please always check your email prior to your shift for updates. Please also wear closed-toed shoes to your shifts, thanks!
