Summer Foods Program

Summertime is "fun time!” But for many children who rely on eating meals at school, summer can bring hunger. You can make a difference by serving meals to the residents of Chatham Estates Mobile Homes as well as the Arbors at Cary apartments this summer. We will be on-site at Mondays at Arbors at Cary apartment complex kicking off on June 20 at 5:30 pm. (Please arrive by 5:15 if you are serving food or bringing milk) Thursdays we'll be at Chatham Estates beginning June 23, 2022 at 5:30 (Please arrive by 5:15 if you are serving food or bringing Milk)

 

Setup will begin at 5:15pm each evening.  We need one “lead" per night.  Families are welcome to volunteer together. If you would like to be a “lead," please reach out to Cesely at 919-468-0233. Leaders can easily learn this role by volunteering one night with Cesely, or she can send you a detailed instruction sheet of the process. Volunteers should arrive on-site by 5:15 to receive food delivery (Which will be delivered by 5:30pm. Please review the available slots for other volunteer opportunities. We will have one volunteer retrieve milk from the Kirk of Kildaire church and bring it to our site. (They have coolers and ice for us to use). We also need volunteers to lead children’s activities.
