Sunday Morning Hospitality is such a lovely tradition here at St. Michael Parish, and it's a fun ministry for families! If every Religious Ed and Parish family picked one or two Sundays to help out, our schedule would be set! A "how to" guide for volunteers follows.
Two volunteers are asked to sign up each Sunday to help:
Volunteer No. 1 is asked to pick up pre-ordered boxes of munchkins at Dunkin Donuts (308 Great Road) by 9:30 am and bring them to the Parish Center. You DO NOT pay for the donuts; we have an account with Dunkin Donuts and are billed at a later date. Once you get to the parish hall, you’re asked to assist the person assigned to coffee and remain with us to help with the hospitality breakfast. It’s a fun time and a great way to meet fellow parishioners! No one is happier than when you're handing them a munchkin!
Volunteer No. 2 is asked to arrive at the Parish Center by 9:30 am to make the coffee. The supplies will be in the kitchen and the coffee pot is on the shelf above the back utility sinks by the windows.
Both volunteers are asked to help set up, serve, and clean-up.
Set-up involves putting the juice out in cups and putting out a supply of munchkins (two per napkin). The congregation will come over after Mass. After everyone leaves the Parish Center, please make sure the tables are left clean (there are sponges in the kitchen for you to use). Leftover supplies can be returned to the kitchen. Finally, the coffee urn will need to be cleaned and put back into the cabinet. Thank you so much for volunteering for this very important ministry!
