Tualatin Valley Beekeepers Association
Welcome TVBA members to the River Oak Farm TVBA Honey House!
The TVBA Honey House is a fabulous community asset that needs care and management by TVBA members.
In 2019, the Honey House will need to be cleaned and prepared for use on Friday, July 19 from 7 to 8pm, in advance of the annual TVBA Picnic and Bee Day at River Oak Farm on July 20. This prep session and the extraction demos at the picnic are a perfect way for a new beekeeper to get the needed introduction to how the tools work. **All newbies who want to use the Honey House tools must find a mentor to work with them on their first extraction. TVBA will provide a list of mentors to make your request.
Honey House Open Up and End of Season Clean Up:
The first day the Honey House will be open for use will be Sunday, July 21, and the final day for extration in 2019 will be Labor Day, September 2.
The TVBA community, especially EVERYONE who uses the Honey House tools is requested to help clean up and prep the house for winter on Monday, September 9 and Wednesday, September 11.
