Congregation Kol Ami

Kol Ami Chanukah Family Service and Potluck Dinner

Please join us for a Chanukah Family Service and Pot Luck on Friday, December 7, 2018 6:30pm-9:00pm!

PLEASE NOTE:  The 5th Grade Class / Chanukah Family Service will begin at 6:30pm with the Congregational Potluck Dinner immediately following the conclusion of services.  There will no Tot Shabbat that evening.

The schedule of events is as follows:

6:30pm - Welcome & Lighting of Chanukah Candles  (The 5th Grade Class will be assisting Rabbi Stratford in leading the prayers and lighting the candles.)

6:45pm-7:30pm - 5th Grade Class / Chanukah Family Service

7:30pm-8:15pm - Congregational Potluck Dinner

8:15pm-9:00pm - Crafts and games for kids / Text Study led by Rabbi Stratford

9:00pm - Conclusion and Clean up

For the potluck:

Latkes, Challah, Hanukah Gelt, and pitchers of waters will be provided.

When you RSVP, please indicate the Dairy or Parve dish (no meat please) to share that you will be bringing in the personal comments section of the RSVP.

We also need people willing to contribute dining supplies:  disposable table clothes, sturdy paper plates, plastic ware, and cups.  These items can be in lieu of or in addition to bringing a dish to share.  These items are listed under the volunteer portion of the sign up.  **If you do choose to contribute any of these items, we would greatly appreciate it if they are delivered either during Religious School on Sunday 11/18 or 12/2 or to the office at the UU prior to the event.**

We are in need of volunteers for set up (beginning at 5:30pm) and clean up (9pm at the conclusion of the evening), two volunteers willing to greet latecomers/take food, and also volunteers to help with the Chanukah Activity Stations for the kids after the potluck (this is a great way for the 9th-12th graders to volunteer!).

RSVP and Questions:

To ensure an accurate head count, please RSVP by December 1, 2018.

If you have any questions regarding the changes to the service, please contact Rabbi Stratford at [email protected]

If you have any questions regarding the potluck or the volunteer needs, please contact Andie Sante at [email protected]

Thank you in advance for your help in making this a wonderful congregational event to celebrate both Chanukah and our 5th Graders!
