The Catholic Community of St. Francis of Assisi
COVID-19 Update: Adhering to social distancing guidelines, volunteers are not meeting at the church to make lunches. Volunteers can make lunches at home, but to limit risk to the residents of Morehead Hills and our volunteers, only ministry coordinators are delivering the lunches.
Here's how it works:
Volunteers pick-up supplies (wagon, brown bags, baggies, granola bars, crackers, gloves) from the Cupertino Room in the Community Center on Thursday or Friday between 9:00am and 4:00pm the week of their date of service. Volunteers provide sandwich supplies, fruit snacks, and desserts and make the lunches at home. On Saturday morning, bring the wagons filled with lunches back to the door outside of Cupertino between 9:30 and 9:45am where a Ministry Coordinator will pick them up and deliver the lunches to Morehead Hills.
St. Francis Brown Bag Ministry makes and delivers lunches to a low-income senior citizen apartment community in Durham. It only takes a few hours and is a wonderful opportunity for all ages! Please read the full description before signing up. Everything you need to know can be found at www.stfrancisraleigh.org/bbm.
- IMPORTANT: Unlike other area Brown Bag Ministries, St. Francis' program relies on volunteers to provide a portion of the lunch supplies: sandwiches, fruit, and dessert.
