Nativity Laundry Love Team 2.0
Thank you for participating in the fourth annual bake sale to benefit Nativity's Laundry Love ministry! There is a great deal of excitement around this event and we're grateful you're a part of it.
Here are a few tips for ensuring event success:
Please use Sign-Up Genius to indicate what you may be bringing. Of course, you may change your mind -- we'd just like a general idea for planning purposes.
Packaging Your Contributions
It does not have to be fancy - just neat. Clear packaging with little or no design works best. Things will sell much better if shoppers can see the food. Items wrapped in something like foil are unlikely to sell regardless of how well-labeled.
Whole cakes are tricky to sell and we can get more for four quarters than we can for a whole. Please consider quartering a cake and wrapping/labeling each quarter separately. Similarly, no more than 6 cupcakes on a plate.
We are not able to accept unwrapped items.
Labeling Your Contributions
It's super helpful to bake sale table staffers if each item is labeled with:
** a product name (i.e., sour cream pound cake; chocolate chip cookies; brownies w/pecans; brownies w/out nuts). If the primary ingredients are not obvious from the name, please consider listing them.
** always, always indicate if nuts are used and what type.
** while baking from scratch is not required, if you did don't be shy about indicating that on your label. Baking from a box is absolutely fine too!
Delivering Your Contributions
We'll be accepting baked goods at the church starting at 4pm on Saturday, April 27th and until 11am on Sunday, April 28th.*
Saturday deliveries are especially encouraged as this gives us more Masses to sell our stock!
We are not able to accept contributions after 11am on Sunday.
*If you need to deliver earlier than 4p on Saturday 4/27, please send an email no later than Friday, April 26th to [email protected] to learn about an alternative.
Pricing Your Contributions
We are happy to price your contributions upon delivery. We aim to price items with respect for the baker's time and cost of ingredients. This is where it is especially helpful to know if you baked from scratch.
If you'd like to make a suggestion for pricing, please do. Unless it's particularly out of line with similar items, we generally will not change a price that a baker sets. Our experience has been that bakers tend to under-price their items - in that case, we reserve the right to increase the price :--).
