2021 CFUMC And Stone Point Church
Hello Everyone, it is hard to believe it is October already and 2021 will be over in only a couple of months. Let us all send prayers up that 2021 leaves us with a lot healthier outlook for everyone in our year of 2022.
The week of October 10 - October 17, 2021, will be our fourth and final scheduled week Hosting Family Promise this year. The families will be returning to CFUMC campus for this week. This gives us the opportunity to spread God's and allows these families to know firsthand we really care about them. It puts faces to a church’s name. The families being at our church will also open a lot more areas for volunteers to meet, to greet, to get to know, to setting up, to taking down, to provide meals and to spend the night in God’s house. It is just an entire week to really spread God’s Love. The need is great, and we need your help.
In the first quarter of 2020 there was estimated to be 4,800 homeless individuals on the streets of our Forsyth County. Of this number 634 were homeless children enrolled in Forsyth County Schools. This number does not include under school aged children which when added would more than double the number of Forsyth County’s children without a home. Please prayerfully consider looking to be a part in making this week one of peace, joy and hope a reality for these families.
As of September 6, there are currently two families enrolled in the program.
1. A Dad with 2 children. A daugher that is 17 and a son that is 8.
2. A Mom with a son that is 13.
These numbers will possibly change prior to our 10/10/21 week. Updates on numbers will be emailed to all enrolled volunteers as numbers change.
The dinners shown are home cooked meal suggestions which can be changed should we have a Sunday School Class/or others that would like to fix something different. Just give me a call or text and let me update so we do not have duplications on consecutive nights. The 13 year old boy is allergic to Peanuts and all Tree Nuts. Please provide a "Contains Nuts" note on any dish provided in your dinner that contains nuts
We have in-class training or on-line training available should anyone be interested in joining as a Coordinator, Overnight Host, or just helping at the Family Promise Day Center on Hutchinson Road in Cumming. Give me a call or text and I will be glad to give/find answers to your questions, concerns, or suggestions.
“Sharing our God given gifts by serving others creates a better world. Imagine all that can be accomplished if we stopped making excuses. When we give all that we are, we create a world that is closer to resembling what God desires for everyone.”
