Children without placement (CWOP) currently sleep in CPS offices because there is nowhere else for them to go. In collaboration with Fostering Family, Harris County Youth Collective (HCYC), and Cultivating Families, Parkway and other faith communities are responding to needs during greater Houston's CWOP crisis.
Every Wednesday this summer, Parkway will be providing a hot meal for the children and their case workers staying at the CPS offices.
All we ask from you is to sign up to bring a frozen casserole (or ready to be frozen) in a 9x13 foil casserole pan on JUNE 7th to Parkway UMC. Depending on how many children and CPS workers are staying at the location on the day of Parkway's responsibility, Mak Percival will heat the proper amount of casseroles to deliver that evening.
Please use a disposable foil pan and cover your casserole with foil or a disposable plastic lid. Please write what kind of casserole dish it is and the heating instructions on the foil or plastic lid in sharpie. Example: "Chicken Spaghetti:Heat for 25 minutes at 400 degrees".
If you have any questions please contact Mak Percival at [email protected]
