Our final 2022 hosting week for Family Promise Harrisburg Capital Region is August 21-28. If you have served before, WE ARE GRATEFUL for your willingness to give of your time. The families need the help this program provides.
Post Covid changes are still in effect. We no longer need volunteers to do laundry as guests will arrive with their own air mattresses and sheets. This means less setup initially, but we ask that our Sunday van volunteers help our guests set up their mattresses and sheets when they arrive for their first night with us.
As was implemented for our June hosting week, we need 2 volunteers in the van - a driver and a passenger for each trip. This puts us in compliance with the guidelines of our Safety and Standards Committee,
See below for the ways to get involved with our Family Promise week. Please prayerfully consider how you can serve, then sign up to help with the "job" that fits you. Since we need a minimum of 2 people as meal preparer/server/evening host, overnight host and van driver, we encourage you to team up and share the "job". If you are a "solo" volunteer and want some help connecting with other volunteers, please contact Diane Boone, Cindy Duck, Karen Eppley or Danielle Erdley.
The times shown with each event is the approximate time frame of your volunteer service. Meal preparers should be aware that your planned meal may need to be modified if our guests have food allergies, etc. THANK YOU FOR YOUR FLEXIBILITY....We have learned that is key for success. :)
Our webpage, accessed from the TSLC website, has information about the TSLC Family Promise program but also has links to information for Family Promise Harrisburg Capital Region. Check it out if you are a first time volunteer or a previous volunteer who might like a refresher on volunteer "job responsibilities".
