Missouri City "Don't Mess with Texas" Trash Off

2023 Trash Off

Gather friends, famliy or co-workers to help clean up Missouri City! Participants will collect trash from parks and trails as part of the annual state-wide "Don't Mess with Texas Trash Off."

Everyone will meet at the Missouri City Community Center to pick up materials (Trash bags, grabbers, gloves) and also your cleanup location. You will then go to your cleanup location and pick up trash for up to two hours. Take photos during your cleanup and post to Facebook or Twitter as much as possible. Tag #KeepMissouriCityGreen for a chance to win a prize!

Pick up trash at your location for up to two hours. Upon check in, you'll be advised as to where to leave the trash and materials when you're done. Return your materials to the Community Center where you will be provided snacks. Remember to bring your own water bottle to avoid extra waste with plastic water bottles!

* NOTE - YOU WILL NEED TRANSPORTATION FROM THE COMMUNITY CENTER TO YOUR TRASH CLEAN UP SITE (PARK). In most cases, parks are within 5 minute drive. *

Special Instructions: When picking up litter, Keep Texas Beautiful recommends you do so responsibly and at your comfort level. Please wear disposable gloves, and use a litter grabber (when available). 

When you are finished collecting litter, please make sure your trash bags are securely tied to protect sanitation workers. Immediately wash your hands with soap and water or use hand sanitizer after collecting litter.
