Kiwanis volunteers will be picking up donated food and delivering it to Diakonia on Monday and Friday mornings. There will also be occasional special food pickups added to the schedule - information about these will be provided by email.
** THERE WILL BE SPECIAL DIAKONIA PICKUPS FROM THE CASINO ON NOVEMBER 7, 8, 14, AND 15, FOLLOWED BY SORTING, BAGGING, AND LABELING THE COLLECTED DONATIONS AT THE COMMUNITY CENTER. THESE DONATIONS WILL BE DELIVERED TO DIAKONIA ON NOV 9 AND 16. PLEASE SIGN UP TO HELP OUT. MORE INFORMATION WILL BE PROVIDED BY EMAIL AND YOU CAN CONTACT CAROLYN DRYZGA IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS. **
There are two routes on Mondays. The first is a two location route: first pick up at Sarah’s Pantry at the Community Church in Ocean Pines at 8:30 a.m. and deliver to Diakonia. Then go to Panera Bread at White Marlin Mall and pick up their donation and deliver it to Diakonia.
The second route on Monday and the Friday route are the same: Pickup is at the Food Lion on Rt. 113 in Berlin at 10:00 a.m.
All donations should be driven to the Diakonia Main House; ring the bell and staff will unload your vehicle. All volunteers should arrive at the pick up point with an empty trunk to accommodate the volume of donations.
