Over these past 15 months, MPB Justice Matters Ministry has provided close to 40 opportunitites for the MPB community to come together virtually in conversation. Topics have ranged from hope to forgiveness to racial equity to climate change. These conversations have provided a safe and structured format for members to participate in sustained conversations, while being open to others and solidifying personal views. These conversations have proven to be beneficial to participants in making new connections, and opening oneself to new perspectives.
As we presently face a transition in leadership at MPB, we felt a Living Room Conversation could provide a healty format for community to come together to listen, share and process. This conversation was tailor made for MPB. We thank those at LRC for their help and supoport in this process.
Opening: Leadership plays a pivotal role in creating, maintaining, and inspiring a strong sense of community. As we face a time of transition, we may be experiencing a range of emotions from fear, sadness, and anger to hope and excitement. Change is a fundamental part of our mortal existence and this conversation was created to give space and time to consider how we are personally experiencing this moment and how we move forward together. We will share our hopes and dreams as well as our concerns regarding our upcoming change in leadership. This is a time to reflect with gratitude for our past and reaffirm our vision of who we are as a community.
Please join us for one of two opportunites to participate. Both sessions will be the same, and hopefully having two different time slots will give you the opportunity to choose one that best fits your schedule.
