Trinity Presbyterian Church

Fall Day of Discipleship

This year our Fall Day of Discipleship will look a bit different than years past! We will host educational gatherings around the lunch table followed by activities to support our partner organizations.

Lunch will be served in the Fellowship Hall and we will sit in tables based on the ministry partners with which we sign up to serve. Following lunch, we will spread out across the church to participate in activities to help our partner organizations. In the details below look to see what projects we will help fulfill.

Our hope is that this day of discipleship will help us to both support our partners on the day of and to educate us all to engage in these mission opportunities throughout the year! We encourage you to sign up for an organization or area with which you are least familiar. So, for example if you are a weekly tutor at Nations Ford but have not ever been to Urban Ministry Center - sign up with Urban Ministry Center!

Urban Ministry Center - learn about Urban Ministry Center's work to end homelessness and support people living with homelessness. We will learn about their continuuum of support and partnerships throughout the city as well as ways you can help serve. Following our time of learning, we will make sandwiches to be served at lunch the following day.

McCreesh Place - learn about McCreesh place's housing first model and the ways they support the residents there. Following a brief learning opportunity, folks will travel to McCreesh place for a time of fellowship and games with the residents!

Nations Ford School - learn about education in Charlotte, the wonderful 11 year partnership between Trinity and Nations Ford and the ways we can support the students, teachers and mission of Nations Ford School. Following lunch, we will make student support bags!

Friendship Trays and Friendship Garden - learn about the Friendship Trays program and what makes it more than a meal delivery service as well as Trinity's Friendship Garden! Following lunch, we will tend to the fall garden!

Bed's For Kids - learn about Beds for Kid's mission to supply every child in Charlotte with a bed to sleep on. Following lunch, we will assemble dressers and other furniture to be donated to Bed's For Kids.
