PAC Summer Camp
As a summer camp commissioner, you would spend your day around camp talking with scout units at their campsites, working with the Troop SPL on camp inspections, working with scout leaders and having a fun Scouting week at Long Lake. The week's commissioners choose which Troop gets the campsite award at Friday's campfire. You are also a resource for Camp Staff and help watch for problems in camp.
As a camp commissioner you get your meals paid for, get a staff t-shirt, and can stay either with your Troop or in a camp cabin.
Requirements: Registered Scouter, taken Commissioner Basic Training, be current with your Youth Protection Training, taken Preventing Youth on Youth Abuse within the last year, taken Hazardous Weather within the last 2 years, (all available on line). Workplace Harrassment Prevention training is also needed and be accessed at BSA Skill Soft site: www.skillsoftcompliance.com/academy/default.aspx?orgid=551502.
You should also have a desire to help scouts have a safe, fun, and educational summer.
Note: Troop numbers and Camp sites are tentative as of April 30, 2022 and are expected to change as the spring signups come in. (Crew 651 is camp staff and not counted in troop counts)
