St. Thomas' Parish Migrant Welcome
Thank you for volunteering to help welcome migrants who are transiting through D.C. St. Thomas' is offering daytime space for migrants arriving in the city to have a place to be while they and volunteer organizations supporting them figure out their next steps.
During your volunteer slot you may be preparing and serving food, sorting through clothes and other donations, running errands for necessities that arise, and/or otherwise being a friendly and welcoming face. If you know Spanish or another foreign language that is helpful but NOT necessary - Google Translate and a smile go a long way.
Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. Please arrive on time for your slot at St. Thomas' Episcopal Church, 1517 18th St NW (18th & Church Streets, near Dupont Circle).
We are sharing Saturday hosting duties with New York Avenue Presbyterian Church in downtown Washington. If you would like to volunteer but the dates at St. Thomas' don't work, please take a look at their sign-up site: https://m.signupgenius.com/#!/showSignUp/805054aacac2aa4fb6-immigrant
Drop-in volunteers are welcome (but we really appreciate a heads-up if possible - please email [email protected] and/or [email protected] if you plan to come).
