Host a Sign Up Party to raise money for Whittier

Sign Up Parties are essential to the success of the Spring Fling. They are fun and are some of the best-selling items at the Spring Fling resulting in a large souce of revenue. And besides that, they are a great opportunity for community building! Whether you host a party or just sign up to come to a party, you are sure to have a great time as you mix and mingle with Whittier students, families or teachers that you may have never met.

What are Sign Up Parties? They are “sign-up” events that parents, a group of parents, or Whittier staff agree to host for as many people as they find appropriate for the specific activity/party. Attendees can be adults, kids or a combination of the two. The hosts cover all expenses of the party, and 100% of the funds raised by the event benefit Whittier. Prices range from $25 to $50+ per person depending on the event.

Parties don’t need to be elaborate, but they can be! They can be as simple as an organized soccer game for 10-20 5th graders at a local park for two hours and as elaborate as a Progressive Dinner hosted by multiple families. It’s up to you. Think Beer Tasting, Kids Scavenger Hunt, a weekend Cooking or Carpentry lesson, or a casual cocktail party. You can host a lecture on quantum electrodynamics if you want – there should be something for everyone!

Our Spring Fling volunteers have a lot of ideas if you need them (see below), or contact us [email protected] or [email protected] Sign up by March 13th

We need many contributions to the Spring Fling …and Sign Up Parties are by far the most fun way to do so!

Ideas:

School's Out! Backyard Barbecue, Afterschool or weekend cooking or carpentry class, Silkscreening for Second Graders, Margarita Mamas, Kid's pumpkin carving party, Apple Cider Press party, Back-to-school Brunch, Northwest Wine Tasting, Huskies versus Cougars Football Viewing Party, Lecture on Solar Energy Home Installation, Holiday cookie exchange, Oktoberfest party
