Oakland HOPE food pantry
COVID SAFTEY: IF you are a Nurse/First Responder or are in the Medical field and come in contact with possible COVID-19 patients unfortunately you CANNOT volunteer with us at this time. Volunteer safety is a top priority. EVERYONE entering the store, is required to wear gloves (provided) and face masks. Before every shift volunteers and staff will fill out a COVID screening questionaire and have thier temperature taken.
What to Expect: Food Pantry Volunteers are needed to help shop for pantry clients and load boxes of food into the client's trunk. Clients remain in their cars while volunteers load food boxes into their trunk but volunteers do collect dashboard tickets from the client. Volunteers who are signed up for the food pantry may be moved to the thrift store depending upon our greatest need. Flexibility is key!
Dress Code: Please wear closed toe shoes. Volunteers will be provided with a red Oakland HOPE vest to wear for the day!
Volunteers may enter the building through the EXIT door (Right side of lobby). This way customers do not accidentally enter the building before we open at 11am. Just PULL.
New Volunteers: Please arrive by 10am for training
Note: When you sign up, you are signing up for a FULL SHIFT.
Please click on a slot to sign up. If you have trouble signing up or cannot make your shift please e-mail [email protected]
On behalf of the many people who receive food because YOU gave of your time. THANK YOU!
