Tu B'shvat Celebration and Potluck
Join us as we celebrate Tu B'shvat: the New Year for the Trees (click here to learn about the holiday!) , which in contemporary times has an emphasis on both cultivating our gratitude for the earth and its abundance, and awareness of environmental issues affecting our planet. Please read carefully, as there are some special requests to make this as eco-friendly an event as possible in honor of the holiday!
We ask all to bring their own plates, cups (silverware will be provided), and cloth napkins if you have them, so that we minimize the use of paper and plastic. There is no more appropriate time to be as eco-friendly as possible than on Tu B'Shvat!
Our meal will be mostly vegetarian, to emphasize our gratitude for all that grows from the earth (dairy and eggs are fine for protein sources in main dishes - feel free to bring mac and cheese, vegetarian lasagna, broccoli quiche, etc)! For some great Tu B'shvat recipes, click here and scroll down to lots of links! After our potluck dinner, we will have an ICE CREAM TU B'SHVAT SEDER - 4 colors of ice cream to represent the 4 seasons, along with fruits and nuts that represent the seven species from Israel, and other themes of the holiday.
For those who would like to stay for Wine and Wisdom, our adult study/discussion, we delve deeper into texts and themes of the holiday.
Please bring a dish that serves 10-15 people, and write the name of your dish and ingredients to display, so that anyone who keeps kosher, or has food allergies, will know what is in them. THANK YOU!Date: 02/09/2020 (Sun.) Time: 5:00pm - 7:00pm EST Location: Narberth Borough Hall, 100 Conway Ave, Narberth
