9United is so excited about the success of our Birthday Bundle initiative that we began last June! Many of us take our birthday cake for granted and don't realize that many kids in our area aren't able to have one. We decided to partner with St. Joes Orphanage to give their kids something sweet on their special day.
Thanks to generous donations last year and throughout the summer we have been able to supply roughly 120 of their children with ingredients to bake their own birthday cake and a gift card to Target or Walmart to choose a birthday gift. In speaking with the Group Services Coordinator he told me that "now that we are 'up and running' the kids are all looking forward to 'their turn' to have a cake with their friends and family on their birthday & have everyone sing Happy Birthday to them!" We feel confident that the success of this initiative has contributed to that excitement!
Our hope is to continue what we have started! We want to ensure that all of these kids have that "party" that they are looking forward to ... but we need your help! We are starting over now, it's a new year ... 120 more birthdays to be celebrated ... and we are hoping to provide supplies for these deserving students - and some new ones - again this year! Please consider making a donation to our "Birthday Bundles" for these kids. If you would prefer to simply make a financial contribution please visit http://www.9united.org/.
All "Bundle" donations can be dropped off at Nagel Middle School's security vestibule, located through the main office door, between 8:00 am-1:00 pm Monday-Friday or at 7814 Outlookridge Lane (45244).
