Tipi Building and Buffalo with the Children's Museum

Ages 6+

Exploring Dakota Culture and Art:  The tipi and buffalo are important parts of Dakota culture and tradition. Guided by two Educators from the Children’s Museum of Southern Minnesota, children and adults will learn more about how a tipi is constructed as they assemble the tabletop kit and discover how different parts of the buffalo are used by Dakota people with a demonstration of items included in a buffalo box.

This program was funded by a grant from the Traverse des Sioux Library Cooperative and Minnesota's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund
