Chilly Open PUBLIC Volunteers - 2020

Welcome to the 24th Annual Westerville Sunrise Rotary Chilly Open volunteer sign up for Saturday, February 1st, 2020.

Location: Columbus Zoo and Aquarium 4850 West Powell Rd., Powell, OH 43065.

The Chilly Open is an annual wintertime fundraising event, organized and run by the Westerville Sunrise Rotary Club to raise money and increase awareness for children's charities in Central Ohio.  This family-oriented event has helped raise over $3 million for area children's charities. Several hundred volunteers help with this event each year and every hour is critical to its success.  The Chilly Open is one of the largest, all-volunteer run fundraising events in central Ohio winning “Best of the ‘Bus” by the readers of City Scene magazine in 2015.  We are honored to have you as our guests and volunteers for this esteemed event.

NEW THIS YEAR: ALL ALCOHOL SERVERS MUST BE EMPLOYEES OF THE ZOO'S CATERING SERVICE. The Sunrise Rotary Club is no longer allowed to have volunteers take alcoholic beverage orders, pour alcohol, or otherwise serve it to a guest. As part of the Zoo's contract with its food and beverage provider, professional employees will be provided to staff these areas. 

Please browse through the following shifts/assignments, sign up for the one(s) you want and note any special requests in the comments (i.e. if you're signing up two people, put the second person's name in this note).  In order to complete this process you must click on the Submit button at the bottom of the page. Once you have selected your shift(s) and finalized your sign up, you will receive a confirmation from SignUpGenius as to the dates/times you selected. 

Guidelines:

*The event area is quite a distance from the zoo's main entrance - please plan accordingly so that you can be in your volunteer area before your shift.

*Free Parking for volunteers

*Children 12 and older may volunteer with a parent if both register on SignUpGenius

*Volunteers receive free admission to visit the Columbus Zoo, before or after scheduled shift.

*Volunteer check-in is located near the main entrance.

*This is an outdoor event; please dress accordingly.
