Palm Beach County Chapter FNPS
Our annual Native Plant Garden Tour this year takes place in western central Palm Beach County - in West Palm Beach, Lake Worth, Boynton Beach and Wellington. There are 6 interesting properties, and each will need at least two people at the welcome table, and 2 or 3 docents to show the property and answer questions. All the homeowners will be onsite, and there will be a plant list for you and for visitors to use.
Plants will be given away to visitors at the Lerner Garden. Audubon and Butterfly Association volunteers will be taking charge of that.
The morning folks will help with set up; the afternoon folks will help with take down.
Welcomers will be receiving money from non-members, checking membership lists, encouraging and taking new memberships, having people sign waivers, giving wristbands and keeping track of the number of people who attend. They will also give people information about the photo contest. There is a master sheet that explains everything.
The docents will meet with the homeowners and walk the property. It's always good to be able to share the personal stories of the homeowners, as well as the names and characteristics of plants. Most of the plants will be labeled.
Please mark which property, which job and which shift you can fill. If you can stay all day, AWESOME! (If you are scheduled for all day, you may visit the gardens on Saturday). The time slots are overlapped to give time for the transfer of information. If you have time constraints, please note that in the comments.
ALSO - I'll need help putting together the materials for 6 boxes of materials, and folks to deliver them 1-2 days before.
Thank you for volunteering! YOU make this exciting tour possible. Thank you for helping us grow!
