2021 Events

Weed Wrangle®

Brownsburg Parks has partnered with Southern Indiana Cooperative Invasive Management (SICIM) and Hendricks County Invasive Management Cooperative (HC-IMC) to participate in Weed Wrangle® 2021.

Weed Wrangle® is a state-wide clean-up event dedicated to ridding Indiana of non-native plant species. Volunteers are invited to help remove invasive plants for the following dates. 

January 9 – 1pm-4pm

Arbuckle Acres Park, Shelter 6. Focusing on Winter Creeper control and Bush Honeysuckle removal.

January 23 - 1-3:30 pm

B&O Trailhead on Green St.

February 6 – 1pm-4pm

Williams Park, Alpha Shelter. Focusing on Bush Honeysuckle and Burning Bush removal.

March 6 – 1pm-4pm

Williams Park, Alpha Shelter. Focusing on Bush Honeysuckle and Burning Bush removal.

Volunteers are asked to wear a mask and maintian social distancing when able to.

Interested volunteers must be comfortable using power tools and chemicals such as herbicides. Volunteers ages 13-17 must be accompanied by an adult. All volunteers are encouraged to bring work gloves, but all other safety gear will be provided.
