Help us prepare and serve a nourishing meal for Madison's homeless population on Saturday, March 16, 2019, 12:00-1:00 (please arrive by 11:50) at The Beacon, 615 E Washington Ave

Shaarei Shamayim has offered to support the work of Friends of the State Street Family (FSSF), an umbrella group serving the many needs of our neighbors experiencing homelessness. We need volunteers to help provide and serve a meal one Saturday every other month. Many things can be made ahead and would make wonderful group projects for friends, families, or havurot. Our community has done this before - please reach out to our well-seasoned volunteers for suggestions and support!

You can provide, or serve, or both as suits you schedule. Funds are available to offset the cost of food - simply send receipts to Joy. Kimberly Wilson is not available the day of the event this month so Jeff Spizer-Resnick will be the coordinator on March 16th. For any questions before the event and to borrow a roaster oven,  please contact Kimberly at 608-287-6710 or [email protected] Food can be dropped off at the site at 11:50 (the Beacon has it's own parking lot). The parking lot and main door for the Beacon is in the back and accessed from East Main Street between Blount and Blair Streets. You may also pull in and unload to a rolling cart that the Beacon provides. You can drop off food, etc. at Jeff's home earlier in the week or by 10:30 Saturday.
