Calling all homeschoolers. Join the Rangers at Pocahontas State Park for monthly homeschool programs on the the third Monday of each month. These hands-on programs, held rain or shine, are designed for the whole family and will introduce everyone to a variety of nature-themed activities.
Reservations are requested for planning purposes, but are not required. Cost is $3 per child, with fees waied for those 3 and under. Parking fees are waived. Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes for hiking. Pack a picnic and enjoy the park afterwards.
February 17- Bird's the Word
Birds are everywhere- whether you're glancing out out a window or looking up at the sky, and they're the most spectacular and readily observable wildlife. Join us to learn more about our local feathered friends and provide a natural inroad for your child(ren) to start learning about wildlife. We'll be participating in the Great Backyard Bird Count and will be spending time outdoors. Please dress for the weather.

Typically, participants will be divided by age (generally 3-7, 7 and up) during programs. Programs begin promptly at 10 am and 1 pm. Please email [email protected] for more information. Only register the participants for the class and please comment their age.
