FUMC Refugee Committee
First United Methodist Church in Evanston has been supporting two refugee families in Chicago. The committee has worked hard with them to ensure that they have housing and transportation as well as helping them with schooling and activities for their children and basic necessities. Both families receive federal assistance for their food needs but this does not include toiletries and general housing maintenance supplies. We would like your help in providing these supplies.
One family is a single mom with four kids. She works as a housekeeper at a local hotel. The other family is a couple with three kids. Both families struggle with making ends meet but are improving their English skills and working to get better paying jobs.
We would really appreciate any support you can give on this sign up genius list. Please bring supplies to the church office by Sunday, November 17th.
Thank you from the Refugee Committee!
