Downtown Services Center

The Center Volunteer Training and Orientation

The Downtown Daytime Services Center, or "The Center", is a one-stop shop of services for people experiencing or at risk-for homelessness in Downtown Washington DC.  It currently serves well over 140 individuals every single day and we need your help to make it a positive, safe, and welcoming environment.

From serving coffee and meals or helping people connect with the services they need to helping people shop in our clothing closet or sitting and having a conversation with someone over a cup of coffee, there's a variety of ways that you can make a difference!

This Volunteer Training and Orientation is required for every volunteer, before they are eligible to sign up for individual opportunities.

Experienced clinicians will lead trainings built to introduce you to the Center, the services provided, and equip you with the tools necessary for you to be successful as a volunteer at the Center.  You can find a full Agenda for the Training Session attached below.
