Millwood Staff Appreciation Day is Thursday March 26th. This is when we can all say "THANK YOU" to all the wonderful staff we have!
Teacher and Staff Appreciation Day was initiated by the Canadian Home and School Federation in 1988. The purpose of this Day is to encourage parents and the wider community to recognize the personal and professional contributions that our teachers and school staff make to children and their education.
In the past we have decorated the Classroom Doors, however, due to strict fire code guidelines and rules, only 20% of a door can be covered - roughly the size of a large poster. Alternatively, we may be able to use a small amount of the wall space around the door if available.
We know that both you and the staff look forward to this day, so let your imagination loose.
Some of the alternative suggestions we received were:
Give each child a leaf to take home and have them write why they love their teacher then make a flower with it. This can be displayed somewhere where all can see.
Wrap the door like a present with a large strip down the middle and a large strip across with a big center representing the bow made of petals decorated, or written on, by the students.
Access to the classrooms will be available March 25th between 4:00pm and 7:00pm so all the decor is up when staff arrives Thursday morning.
