Dear Christmas Fantasy House Volunteer,
The CFH committee is thrilled to announce that there will be a 29th Annual Christmas Fantasy House this year! We are hoping that you will be able to volunteer again – we will need your help more than ever.
This year’s home, the former UWM Alumni House that is listed on the Wisconsin State Historical Registry, is a 100-year-old, over 24,000 square foot lakeside mansion. Andy Nunemaker, the homeowner who is a Milwaukee entrepreneur and philanthropist, has graciously offered us the use of his home for the Christmas Fantasy House.
The home will be open to the public Saturday, October 29th through Sunday, November 6th. It will be closed on Wednesday, Nov. 2. We will need approximately 900 volunteers to help with the public tours. The online software, SignUpGenius, will be used again this year and will be active on Monday, September 12. Detailed information regarding the sign up will be sent to you at the end of August / beginning of September. As part of our team of volunteers, you will serve as a greeter, a room guide, sell admission or raffle tickets, work in the Christmas Boutique, sell baked goods in our Sweet Shoppe or drive the shuttle van from the parking lot to the house. Volunteers are also encouraged to contribute baked goods to be sold in the Sweet Shoppe or, if possible, to make a monetary donation to Ronald McDonald House Charities® Eastern WI, who we are again supporting this year. We hope that YOU will continue to help us support this very worthy cause.
Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Eastern Wisconsin’s mission is to keep families together and promote the health and well-being of children. Their staff and volunteers are dedicated to easing the burden of families whose lives have been disrupted as a result of their child’s illness or injury. Since they opened their doors in October 1984, RMHC® has provided approximately 40,000 stays to families. These families come from Wisconsin, 50 states and countries around the world whose children are receiving medical care.
The Ronald McDonald House offers a place to call home at little or no cost so families can stay together and focus on the healing of their child. The House is more than a place to stay; it is a place for families to flourish, to reach out to one another and offer comfort and support. Families enjoy private rooms, family meals, art, music and pet therapy programs, a Reflection Room and a beautiful Secret Garden. Most importantly, the House offers the emotional support and friendship of other families facing similar situations.
The committee looks forward to your helping us to make the 2022 Christmas Fantasy House an incredibly successful event. Without the help of wonderful volunteers like you, we would not have been able to run the Christmas Fantasy House for the past 28 years.
